My friend riding a giant penguin into battle...since he's in japan and he's into kabuki like painting, just gave him that facial painting which adds a nice battle style.

Updates...since i havent done any for a while...

Well well, its been too long... I havent updated anything since the avengers movie... haha

I feel like im one those people who cant maintain blogs...dont have anything to show or too lazy to update...

Anyhow, The images here are some of the things i've been up to for the past few months, pretty much all school things, except for the few at the end, which are summer vacation free time drawings.


So the first bunch of images of Avengers are from my Print making class, they gave us the freedom to make whatever we wanted so, being influenced by the amazing Avengers movie, I chose to some prints. I like how they turned out, except for some of the Captain America ones (funny thing is CA was the most popular during critique) which i did kind of in a hurry...I really like how the last Iron man one came out.

 

These are Needle felted figurines for my soft sculpture class, the two figure's are about 8inch tall and the cat is like 2inch. But they were alot of fun to make, even though it was super time consuming...it probably took me a whole day to make both of them. They are also holding pokeballs, which are side projects for me, pretty much something to sell at Sakuracon.

Summer quarter was actually really enjoyable and I got awesome grades too, so I'm quite satisfied.

After watching the FZD School of design youtube video's I've been wanting to make environment paintings. These are the first batch of speed paintings, they took about 30-40min each.

The FZD school youtube page is soo inspiring and super helpful, i learned so much through watching the videos they offer.

Hopefully with more practice, I'll be able to create amazing environment for things...like videogames! XD

This piece just came out of no where, just had the image of the hulk and yotsuba together...completely random but its kinda cute. haha. Speed painting took about 30min.

You can also find dambo in the background...still thinking if i should touch it up and make it into an actual finished product.

Saw the Avengers movie on opening day, I must say it was by far one of the best movie's I've watched in a while, its got action, humor and the story was amazing. I became a total Marvel fan after the movie, awesomely enough the next day was Free Comic day! So I went to my local comic book store and got a free comic book on the Avengers, also bought the Avengers ultimate guide book so I can learn more about them.

The picture I drew here is from the scene in the movie where Ironman and Thor duke it out. Thought that it was one of the most epic battles.
Soon enough I'll be working on other Avengers fan art!

Funny thing how one movie can change one persons way of drawing things.
Sorry I had to take a picture, because i dont have a 11x17" scanner, will scan it at school once i find one.

Hatsune Miku

New way of CG'ing the characters. I really like Pixiv for the tutorials they offer, quite useful if I say so myself.

Still practicing, this took about 10+hours to do alot longer than I had hoped. But its ok, because I'm still practicing, once I get used to it I'm sure I'll get more smoothly.

Also I practiced with the lineart, probably one of my problem is getting the right strokes for the lineart, but I'm getting there, this image shows my improvement.

I really need to keep up with a style instead of bouncing back and forth with different styles. I guess its just one of my those phases where I'm trying to figure out what kind of style I want.

This is looking promising, but I never know =__= I tend to change quite frequently. lol

Also This is my first 11x17 image, already getting ready for Sakuracon 2013 HAHA!

30 day challenge day 5

Day 5 for the drawing challenge, this time i just made up another random character and practiced the new coloring method.

I have no idea how I came up with this character...I mean gasoline..haha, I know in Japan, like Oregon, they have people that fill up your car gasoline.

Still having a hard time with the lineart, getting better, but still no where near what I really want. And the coloring is tough, going to need more practice.

I'll probably just make a bunch of these random character drawings for this 30 day drawing challenge, it'll be a good way to expand my imagination and will allow me to practice more on this new style of coloring.

Anyhow, I need to get back cutting the keychains for sakuracon #busyness... orz

30 day challenge day 4

For today's challenge I tried a new method of coloring, All done with Paintool SAI.
The one thing about this way of painting is the use of brush strokes.

Its a interesting way of coloring, Im kinda liking it so I'll probably stick with it some more and see what else I can create...just for now here is a random character.

Haha the mouth looks derpy XD.

I was inspired by an artist on Pixiv and that person had a tutorial, so yeah, pretty sweet.
