Plushiessss

First time making plushies, i wanted to make these for my friends for Christmas presents.

Took a while to make first, but soon as i got the patterns i think i could make them alittle more quicker. Think it took me about 5-6 hours to make one haha XD. If i had a sewing machine, then i think it'll save me at least 2hours.

But these are about 11inches and are made with felt.

Random Drawing part 3

Still been busy with school for this past few weeks, with all the projects from animation class and my IVA 400 individual work, so much to do so little time...BUT my friend on facebook wanted to do a 365 day drawing challenge, so i felt like that was a good excuse for me to draw something, even one thing a day, would be a good practice for me.

So both on Tumblr and on Facebook, I started posting the one day drawings and also been asking for requests to give me ideas of what to draw.

On my blog here, i'll just upload them as Random drawing part # series. So for those who follow me and have ideas, just let me know~ i love to draw random simple ideas, always a good way to practice.

Just to start off, i wanted to do fan art from the new anime series Magi, the manga is really awesome too. So i hightly recommend the series. The top image is of Morgiana aka Mor.

The second image, requested by a friend, is Jafar from Magi as well.

Been trying to practice color with the complementary color scheme with both characters, I'll hopefully get more chance to do these kinda practices with this challenge.
I know I never went through with the 30 day challenge couple months ago...so Im not sure how long this challenge will last...orz.
I'll do my best!

Random Drawing part 2

I went to school...and worked on my project, but then got bored, so went home and drew these two.

Ugo is pretty much awesome, and Aladdin doing that pose is from one of the chapters, where a huge buff guy portrays Aladdin and so Aladdin tries to copy his gesture and it was hilarious. Probably one of my faveorite scene in the manga.

I started watching Adventure time today. While I worked on the projects, i watched them, its pretty funny, i i thought maybe i can do a simple fanart of it when i go home.

And so here it is, the weirded out my version of adventure time Finn and Jake..lol jake looks old and finn looks like he's about to eat jake... i need more practice XD.

I'll see how much episodes i can watch until i go crazy like them.

Been super busy with school, so I had almost no time to do things i wanted to do...but i made sometime yesterday and today to draw something...even super simple..so here are just some updates with random drawings XP

Hong Meilin Year of Dragon

Yes I know, its already september...kinda too late to announce year of dragon..lol, but at least its still 2012. But to be fair, I did sketch this up in January, I just didnt post the sketch up anywhere XP.

I think I found my style I want to keep when I work on my future piece.

I feel like this picture is dark..on a mac screen, but on a windows screen it looks fine, I guess that makes sense cuz my cintiq is connected to a pc and its kinda like a regular monitor..wish i could figure out a way to configure the color settings to be the same as a mac screen.

Over all I really like how this picture turned out, definitely took a while to cover all the area's but it looks nice. Now its time to work on them commish's.

Today I worked on this all day, getting all line art/base color/and half of first stage of shading done...Hopefully i can finish it up tomorrow.

Baaah! Finally finished...after about 3days or so... Im never going to do backgrounds again!! (at least for a while) lol

So this piece/idea is actually kinda old ...I did a sketch of this in... January of 2011, so a little more than a year and a half. But I really liked how the sketch turned out so I wanted to test out my skills.

Still continuing with the new technique I used for the previous Miku piece. Kinda digging the style, just the downside to this techinque is that it TAKES FOR EVER!!!

Anyhow this is Victorique from the light novel/Anime series Gosick...the thing is, I made her look at least 5 years older than she actually looks like, i realized I made her hair more sharp than it should be, and her facial structure should of been more shorter to give the little child appearance. I still have lots to learn..haha

Updates...since i havent done any for a while...

Well well, its been too long... I havent updated anything since the avengers movie... haha

I feel like im one those people who cant maintain blogs...dont have anything to show or too lazy to update...

Anyhow, The images here are some of the things i've been up to for the past few months, pretty much all school things, except for the few at the end, which are summer vacation free time drawings.


So the first bunch of images of Avengers are from my Print making class, they gave us the freedom to make whatever we wanted so, being influenced by the amazing Avengers movie, I chose to some prints. I like how they turned out, except for some of the Captain America ones (funny thing is CA was the most popular during critique) which i did kind of in a hurry...I really like how the last Iron man one came out.

 

These are Needle felted figurines for my soft sculpture class, the two figure's are about 8inch tall and the cat is like 2inch. But they were alot of fun to make, even though it was super time consuming...it probably took me a whole day to make both of them. They are also holding pokeballs, which are side projects for me, pretty much something to sell at Sakuracon.

Summer quarter was actually really enjoyable and I got awesome grades too, so I'm quite satisfied.

 

Yup Time line on Facebook...they forced everyone to get one now...so I has one too..;__; 

After watching the FZD School of design youtube video's I've been wanting to make environment paintings. These are the first batch of speed paintings, they took about 30-40min each.

The FZD school youtube page is soo inspiring and super helpful, i learned so much through watching the videos they offer.

Hopefully with more practice, I'll be able to create amazing environment for things...like videogames! XD

This piece just came out of no where, just had the image of the hulk and yotsuba together...completely random but its kinda cute. haha. Speed painting took about 30min.

You can also find dambo in the background...still thinking if i should touch it up and make it into an actual finished product.

Saw the Avengers movie on opening day, I must say it was by far one of the best movie's I've watched in a while, its got action, humor and the story was amazing. I became a total Marvel fan after the movie, awesomely enough the next day was Free Comic day! So I went to my local comic book store and got a free comic book on the Avengers, also bought the Avengers ultimate guide book so I can learn more about them.

SPOILER
The picture I drew here is from the scene in the movie where Ironman and Thor duke it out. Thought that it was one of the most epic battles.
Soon enough I'll be working on other Avengers fan art!

Funny thing how one movie can change one persons way of drawing things.
Sorry I had to take a picture, because i dont have a 11x17" scanner, will scan it at school once i find one.

Hatsune Miku

New way of CG'ing the characters. I really like Pixiv for the tutorials they offer, quite useful if I say so myself.

Still practicing, this took about 10+hours to do alot longer than I had hoped. But its ok, because I'm still practicing, once I get used to it I'm sure I'll get more smoothly.

Also I practiced with the lineart, probably one of my problem is getting the right strokes for the lineart, but I'm getting there, this image shows my improvement.

I really need to keep up with a style instead of bouncing back and forth with different styles. I guess its just one of my those phases where I'm trying to figure out what kind of style I want.

This is looking promising, but I never know =__= I tend to change quite frequently. lol

Also This is my first 11x17 image, already getting ready for Sakuracon 2013 HAHA!

30 day challenge day 5

Day 5 for the drawing challenge, this time i just made up another random character and practiced the new coloring method.

I have no idea how I came up with this character...I mean gasoline..haha, I know in Japan, like Oregon, they have people that fill up your car gasoline.

Still having a hard time with the lineart, getting better, but still no where near what I really want. And the coloring is tough, going to need more practice.

I'll probably just make a bunch of these random character drawings for this 30 day drawing challenge, it'll be a good way to expand my imagination and will allow me to practice more on this new style of coloring.

Anyhow, I need to get back cutting the keychains for sakuracon #busyness... orz

30 day challenge day 4

For today's challenge I tried a new method of coloring, All done with Paintool SAI.
The one thing about this way of painting is the use of brush strokes.

Its a interesting way of coloring, Im kinda liking it so I'll probably stick with it some more and see what else I can create...just for now here is a random character.

Haha the mouth looks derpy XD.

I was inspired by an artist on Pixiv and that person had a tutorial, so yeah, pretty sweet.

Black★Rock Shooter

Haha this came out pretty random, was wondering how i can do a BRS fanart, and was struggling to come up with something, i wanted to make it looks epic in some way, but the way i usually draw it would of been too plain and nothing sweet, so i played around with the hair. Hair flying everywhere! but with that i think it added a really great effect to the image.

Played Journey today, it was beautiful, never knew sand could look so shiny. it was fantastic, my speed paint does no justice to this epic game, bu forgive me, for i am still a noob.
